Cashlink withdrawals exceed Lm7 million a month

Bank of Valletta has launched a new image for its Cashlink Card. The design which is in line with the Bank’s new Visa and MasterCard images, launched earlier this year, creates consistency and gives continuity to the range of BOV plastic cards.

Bank of Valletta launched its first Cashlink Card in 1989. Today, this card is extremely popular with BOV customers and use of the Cashlink accounts for over 17% of total transactions. The Bank is also registering a continuous increase in Cashlink usage. In fact over the past year, the use of the Cashlink Card to effect transactions increased by over 10%. Turnover figures attest to the convenience the Cashlink offers customers with over 200,000 withdrawals being made every month from ATMs and with the total Lm value of these withdrawals exceeding Lm7 million per month.

Commenting on the popularity of BOV’s Cashlink Card, the Bank said that today, BOV’s customers using Cashlink enjoy a number of benefits. The Cashlink Card is a versatile debit card that links up to the customer’s current and savings accounts, giving them direct access to their money through Bank of Valletta’s extensive network which comprises 64 Cashlink ATM machines in Malta and Gozo. Bank of Valletta also operates a wide network of over 2500 Electronic Point of Sale terminals. Located in a wide variety of outlets in Malta and Gozo, these EPOS terminals enable Cashlink card users to pay for goods and services directly by presenting their Cashlink Card.
