Advisory council to be launched

An advisory council to the Malta Enterprise Board will be meeting for the first time this Saturday.

The council is represented by twelve wise men with important executive roles in British and US companies.

They all have one thing in common - at one time or another they were all Maltese.

Only one proper Maltese is present on the board, the Reverend Peter Serracino Inglott, a well known philosopher.

The most conspicuous name on the council are Mr Frank Zarb, Chairman of Nasdaq, and Mr Paul Manduca, Chief executive of Rothschild Asset Management, UK.

The aims and plans for the council were announced to The Malta Financial and Business Times by Prof Josef Bonnici.

The council will debate ideas and strategies in terms of Malta’s economic thrust for the future.

None of the members on the board will be receiving a remuneration.

The council will be chaired by Economic Services Minister Profs Josef Bonnici.

Members on the council also include Jonathan Calascione, Franco Cassar Loporto, Roderick Chalmers, John d’Ancona, Prof Edward de Bono, Dr Michael Gera, Mr Pier Massa, Dr Alex Mifsud and Mr Arthur Soler.
