Mallia-Milanes seeks new pastures

Alfred Mallia-Milanes, Director-General of the Malta Employers’ Association has resigned, following thirty-two years of service with the Association.

He also enjoys solid recognition and appreciation in the Industrial field as a specialist on labour matters. Since 1976 he represented Employers’ interests in the International Labour Conference as Malta’s Employers’ delegate. He is also a council member of the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) based in Genoa.

Mr Mallia-Milanes has for many years been an active member of the Governing Body of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) elected by secret ballot. He is also one of the recommended experts of the IOE of labour affairs to the ILO.

On the local scene Mr Mallia-Milanes serves on a number of national boards amongst which are the Broadcasting Authority, the Employment & Training Corporation and Industrial Tribunal.

Mr Mallia-Milanes will now be heading a newly formed network of Professional Consultants offering personalised services to firms in Employee Relations, Collective bargaining, Industrial Relations and EU Social Policy.
