MIC opens an Information Office in Gozo

The Malta-EU Information Centre has officially inaugurated, on Tuesday, February 12, an information office at Tigrija Palazz, Republic Street, Rabat Gozo.

Addressing the guests present, the Head of MIC, Dr Simon Busuttil said that the opening of an office in Gozo was part of MIC’s strategy to decentralise the process of information and to take it closer to the people. The office would therefore make it easier for Gozitan residents to obtain information and to understand how EU membership would affect them. Dr Busuttil said that in providing information services, MIC remained committed to high standards and in particular to provide correct and complete information in an efficient manner. He hoped that Gozitan residents would make full use of the service that is now available to them.

To mark the occasion of the opening of this new office, MIC has published a special edition of Aggornat on Gozo and the EU, and is being distributed to all households in Gozo.

MIC’s office in Gozo will be manned by casual information officers all of whom are Gozo residents. MIC publications and other EU information material will be available at this new office.

The MIC Gozo Office will be opened seven days a week as follows: Mondays to Fridays, from 7am to 1.30pm and from 3pm to 7pm; Saturdays from 7am to 1.30pm; and Sundays from 9.30am to 1.30pm.

Gozitans may even call MIC’s office at Rabat on 2155 8001 and fax their queries on 2155 8010.
