During the first meeting of the GRTU’s Executive Council last week after the Annual General Meeting held on Sunday 13 January, Paul Abela was unanimously confirmed as GRTU President for this year, while Vince Farrugia was confirmed as Director-General of the same organisation.
The GRTU Executive Council also appointed the following GRTU officials:
Philip Fenech: Deputy President and Vice-President Policy and Strategy
Sergio Camilleri: Vice-President – Finance and Administration
Marcel Mizzi: Vice-President – Sections
Sandro Chetcuti: Vice-President – Districts and Localities
Alfred Barthet: Vice-President – International Relations
Joe Tabone: Vice-President – Training & Development
The GRTU Executive Council also made the following appointments:
Sylvia Sciberras: Brussels Representative and Europe Social and Economic Committee member
Mark Saliba: Euro Changeover and Banking Services representative
Mario Debono: Pharmaceuticals and HealthCare representative
Joseph Hili: Food and Distributive Trades representative
Josette Vella: Tourist Areas representative
Salvu Vella: Port Facilities representative
Patrick Cutajar: Malta North representative
Maurice Debono: Gozo representative
Charles Borg: Retailing representative
Piu Camilleri: Commerce representative
