EU funding expert to address seminar

European Commission official Marc Roeder is expected to address an info day on the EU’s eContentplus Programme, the Form Malta fl-Ewropa announced.
Roeder, who hails from the European Commission’s DG Information Society and Media Digital Content & Cognitive Systems, will focus on the Work Programme and Call for Proposals for this year.
The seminar is one in a series of funding information seminars being organised by Forum Malta fl-Ewropa (FME) and will be held on 23 April at the Coastline Hotel, St Paul’s Bay.
FME’s organisation of this training seminar follows a Central Information Day on eContentplus presenting the objectives of the target areas for 2008, recently held in Luxembourg.
The seminar will focus on the various target areas and their specific focus for 2008 - geographic information, educational content and digital libraries; the actions and the means for implementing the Programme, including targeted projects, best practice networks and thematic networks; practical advice for preparation of an eContentplus Project proposal, its evaluation process and criteria.
The eContentplus Programme (2005–2008) has a budget of €149million to tackle organisational barriers and promote the take up of leading-edge technical solutions to improve accessibility and use of digital material in a multilingual environment.
A call for proposals has been published with a deadline for submission set for 12 June 2008.
The seminar targets local authorities, corporations, University and schools, libraries, archives and museums, managers of EU-funded projects and programme managers.
Gabriella Pace, Forum’s CEO, will be chairing this seminar, while Parliamentary Secretary Chris Said will be delivering the opening address.
