Amitex promises to expand on last year's Millennium Edition

Preparations are already under way for the coming edition of Air Malta International Travel Exhibition, Amitex, which will be held between 14 and 18 March 2001. With Amitex strongly established as the travel industry's most important event, Air Malta will be issuing in the coming days, the Sales Brochure to both local and foreign travel partners.

Being the eighth annual edition, Amitex 2001 promises to expand on last year's special Millennium Edition, with even more exhibits, more participants, more coverage, and more support than ever before. The brochure also highlights the various entertainment features to be presented both at the fair and at other localities around the island, by local and foreign entertainers and artists.

Commenting during the launch of the new Amitex Sales Brochure, Mr Jimmy Attard, Air Malta's Manager Marketing and Promotions, stated that more innovative concepts will again be implemented in the coming edition of Amitex. Launched for the travel trade as The Gateway to the World, Amitex will evolve to a more personalised branding for the general public as Your Gateway to the World. Being responsible for the overall administration of the fair, together with all related marketing and advertising campaigns, the Marketing & Promotions Section is in full swing in preparations. Designs for the Air Malta corporate stand include state-of-the-art effects, with special emphasis on modem technology. A special feature related to Air Malta's commitment towards operational quality will also be on display.

Interest from the local travel trade partners is already indicative of another success which will hopefully exceed records reached during the last edition. The special branding - your gateway to the world - is providing the necessary spring board to all participants in providing ever innovative holiday packages, suited for all individual tastes and pockets. Air Malta's own Flyaway Tours will again feature a number of special offers tailor-made for the occasion.

As in previous years, direct link-ups for TV and Radio transmissions will take Amitex into every home in Malta. The popular mobile promotional vehicle will again tour various localities during the fair's build-up campaign. Special attractions included in the entertainment bill will include both local and international artists and entertainers, with public displays in Valletta. The popular Family Area of last edition will again repeat its important role in being the focal point for families and children, featuring the ever popular Young Aviator Club with Captain KozMo hosting a whole array of animators. A grand finale, including the draw of fabulous prizes, will again bring Amitex to a grandiose ending on Sunday night.

The brochure will be distributed to the local Travel Trade during the coming week.
