MHRA vehemently rejects Frosh rates reduction proposal

The Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association has unanimously rejected a proposal put forward by German tour operator Frosh Touristik International to review rates that had been previously contracted for summer 2001. The announcement follows an MHRA meeting of 46 hotels currently contracted with the operator.

The MHRA members reached the decision that they would not accept, in principle, re-negotiating a contract that had been concluded, signed and sealed in good faith.

Furthermore, the MHRA notes that the German market does not indicate the need for the downward revision that Frosh Touristik International had proposed.

Accordingly, the MHRA has strongly recommended that its members reject any attempt by the German operator to reduce contracted rates.
