Growth Investments announces two new Fidelity Funds Growth Investments yesterday announced the local introduction of two new funds in the Fidelity Funds SIVAC range – the Fidelity Funds European High Yield Fund (Denominated in Euros) and the Fidelity Funds Emerging Japan Fund (Denominated in Japanese Yen) The Fidelity Funds European High Yield Fund, launched on 26 June 2000, is a bond fund that seeks to maximise total return through current income and capital appreciation, primarily investing in high-yielding European Corporate bonds. The debt securities in which the fund will invest are not required to meet a minimum rating standard and may not be rated for creditworthiness by any internationally recognised rating agency. The benchmark for performance is the Merrill Lynch Euro High Yield Index. Meanwhile, the Fidelity Funds Emerging Japan Fund is an equity fund that aims to achieve long-term capital growth primarily through investment in equities traded on the Japanese Over-The Counter market or listed on one of the Japanese regional markets. The fund is suitable for those investors who are looking for the longer-term rewards of equity investment and are prepared to accept the higher risk associated with this type of investment. Having also recently launched five new sector funds, the range of Fidelity Funds listed on the Malta Stock Exchange has now increased to 46. The minimum investment amount is Lm500.
