Chalet development call for tenders answered The long awaited development of the picturesque yet grossly neglected landmark Chalet in Sliema looks to be underway at long last. The Lands Department recently received a total of seven offers from a number of companies for the development of the Chalet and two underground parking areas - at Ghar id-Dud and Qui-Si-Sana. The offers four for the development of the Chalet, two for the development of the Chalet and for the parking areas in Ghar id-Dud and another for the parking area in Qui-Si-Sana were made during a call for offers issued by the Lands Department in December 2000. The proposals with the highest offering are being considered by the Planning Authority in order to verify whether they conform to the conditions of the development briefs. |
