Australian betting firm considers move to Malta

Following a proposed Australian federal ban on online gambling, a Darwin-based betting firm, International All Sports, is seriously relocating its business to Malta.

In a recent report to shareholders, the company's executive chairman Mark Read, explained that the company has been granted an international wagering licence by the Maltese government.

Mr Read says this will allow the company ready access to the lucrative European market, adding that, through the Malta loophole, the company could continue to operate even if the proposed ban does come into force.

International All Sports is a leading provider of bookmaking services for Australia and offers offering fixed odds betting on Australian and Asian racing and on world-wide sporting events and is a publicly listed company with more than 3,000 shareholders and a post launch market value of A$82 million (Lm19.6 million).
