Addressing a press conference at Castille, yesterday the Prime Minister Eddie Fenech Adami said that government will pay a total of Lm367,916 to 108 persons in settlement for the injustices they suffered. The cases were decided by the now defunct Commission for the Investigation of Injustices, that was set up after 1987 by the Nationalist government. Government and state corporations paid out a total of Lm1,427,584 in
settlement of injustice cases decided by the Commission during the years
it was operational. |
