Foreign Minister Joe Borg told The Malta Financial and Business Times that the Maltese Government categorically condemned the "barbaric act against the American people". Dr Borg said that the Maltese Government was in continuous contact with Maltas embassies in New York and Washington D.C. but the panicky situation made it difficult to confirm whether any Maltese people were involved in the incidents. Dr Borg said that the security at the Maltese embassies was stepped up. MLP Secretary General Jimmy Magro issued a statement yesterday condemning the terrorist acts and extending his condolences to the victims and the US government. Meanwhile, reacting to the terrorist attack Alternattiva Demokratika Chairperson Harry Vassallo expressed his deepest regret as well as ADs condolences with the victims of the attack. Dr Vassallo insisted "nothing can justify terrorism." |
