Next year Playmobil will move to a new custom built 33,000 square meter Premises. Playmobil Malta Ltd. hosted over 200 guests from JouéClub, the largest buying group in France. JouéClub has 220 members with approximately 300 shops. JouéCIub President Jackie Pelijeux was accompanying the members for their annual conference which this year was being held in Malta. The association between JouéClub and Playmobil France, the distribution company for Playmobil in France, goes way back to 1975, when the first Playmobil sets were sold in France. This business relationship has developed and grown throughout the years with last year's turnover results for Playmobil France being Lm2.2 million. Visiting the manufacturing plant in Malta was an added Incentive coordinated by Mr. A. Wittersheim CEO of Playmobil France and Helga Ellul the CEO of the Brandstatter Group - Malta. The Minister of Economic Services, Prof. Josef Bonnici, addressed the participants during the reception at Playmobil's premises. Minister Bonnici said that the seminar should motivate and enhance the business prospects between the parties concerned. Minister Bonnici added that since Playmobil Malta Ltd. was established in Malta in 1975, approximately 1.7 billion toy figures have been produced. The Minister for Economic Services also stated that Playmobil Malta Ltd. is highly concerned with quality matters and standards in Malta and in Europe. In fact Minister Bonnici said that Playmobil Malta Ltd. is registered by the BSI and Playmobil toys are also conform to the European EN 71 Toy Safety standards. French Ambassador Mr. Destremau was also amongst the VIP guests on this occasion. The visit ended with a tour of the manufacturing plant and the Playmobil Funpark. Playmobil Malta Ltd. currently employs over 700 people is planning to move to the new custom built 33,000 square meter premises in Hal Far next year. |
