The Malta Financial Services Centre (MFSC) has published a 60-page full colour guide to provide a better understanding of investments to first-time or inexperienced investors. "Invest Wisely! Its your money!" is an easy-to-read guide available in both Maltese and English and will be of interest to those who want to know more about investing. "The guide is an excellent tool for the Maltese investor. It makes the world of finance and investment easy to understand and therefore more accessible to the Maltese public. The Guide will go a long way in increasing awareness among consumers and boosting investor confidence" said Mr John Dalli, Minister of Finance, during a media briefing at the Malta Financial Services Centre in Mriehel this morning. The guide includes a glossary of over 100 widely-used financial terms. This is the first time that a publication in Maltese incorporates a glossary of financial terms, which are explained together with the English equivalent. The glossary explains financial terms which investors come across in adverts, posters and brochures promoting investments. Other features include: information about choosing an intermediary, the different types of investment services intermediaries available in Malta, notes about how investors should monitor their investments and general information about shares, bonds and collective investment schemes. The guide also provides information about the regulators for financial services in Malta and points to consider before choosing an investment product. It also includes information about how an investor can protect himself from falling for scams. |
