APS Bank Limited and Maltapost plc have announced the signing of an agreement that should be the beginning of a possible closer business relationship between the two service providers. As part of this agreement, from 17 December 2001, APS Bank will start offering limited deposit services through a number of Maltapost branches. The first five outlets to offer this service are in Zejtun, Zabbar, Qormi Parcel Office, San Gwann and St Paul's Bay. A Maltapost branch in Gozo will shortly also be included in this list. Referring to this co-operation arrangement between APS Bank and Maltapost, Mr Edward Cachia, CEO of APS Bank said the agreement will hopefully lead to other opportunities between the two companies. The Bank is always seeking new and better ways to serve its customers. We feel that with this new service through Maltapost, we all stand to gain from a wider reach in the market and greater customer satisfaction. Mr Cachia concluded by thanking Maltapost plc for giving the Bank this possibility of reaching customers and the local communities through their well-located post offices in areas where the Bank does not have a branch or ATM. Mr Frank Dimech, Chairman of Maltapost plc said that APS Bank
is building on an innovative concept for the Maltese market and the
launch of the deposit service could eventually result in the provision
of other financial services through the post office network. |
