FOI signs co-operation agreement with Rome Industrialists’ Union

Malta Federation of Industry Deputy President Anton Borg and Giancarlo Elia Valori – President of the Unione Degli Industriali di Roma, signed a co-operation agreement between the two organisations at a ceremony that took place last week in the presence of Prime Minister Dr Eddie Fenech Adami, who was on an official visit to Rome.

The signing took place at the Campidoglio, when Dr Fenech Adami was visiting the Mayor of Rome, Walter Veltroni.

The FOI explained that the agreement signifies the FOI’s determination to strengthen and support the development of economic and trade relations between Malta and the Italian region of Lazio.

During the signing of the agreement, Mr Borg addressed the Roman Businessmen gathered for the occasion, explaining, "... both the FOI and the Union of Industrialists in the Lazio region believe that progress towards an area of mutual prosperity is helped considerably by the establishment of formal links between organisations representing the business community.

"The agreement was designed to facilitate the flow of investments and to expand trade between Italy and Malta. Individual businessmen will as a result be able to find support at all times when they are looking for new business opportunities and collaboration."

The FOI Deputy President invited the Roman businessmen to visit Malta and to find out for themselves the opportunities that exist.
