Internet quality and speed boost sales

A recent study of consumer behaviour on the Internet carried out in the US published this month found that from among the people who use Internet, 75% said they went to the Web more than once a week to seek information before making a purchase.

81 per cent of these said that quality of online images and speed in downloading were key factors in determining what and how much they buy online.

When faced with inferior image quality and problematic downloads, 55 per cent said they gave up, or bought from the competition.

Only eight per cent said they returned to the original site for their purchase.

Accordingly, if one wants to close a sale on the Internet an advertiser must create high quality images and be certain they can be downloaded quickly, or at least, faster than the competition.
