Terranet acquires Search Malta website

Maltacom subsidiary Terranet Ltd on Monday announced an agreement with SearchEurope.com Inc to acquire the search engine website, www.searchmalta.com, which will be added to Terranet’s expanding portfolio of content services which include the portal www.di-ve.com.

Search Malta was founded in 1996 by a Maltese, Antoine Zammit, at the time living in North California, and was one of the earliest Malta-related sites on the Internet. Today. Search Malta is the most authoritative search engine for sites dealing with Malta and is one of the most visited websites by those interested in Malta.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Terranet’s offices on Monday Maltacom chairman Maurice Zarb Adami Chairman commented, "Over the last years we have been growing our involvement in the content business through the di-ve brand. Search Malta will add a very important dimension to our achievements so far, and will continue to grow our already substantial audience amongst the online community. We are convinced that Maltacom’s continued investment in new opportunities will be key to our success over future years"

Antoine Zammit, in Malta from the USA to finalise the agreement, explained he was glad to see a personal initiative started more than six years ago fruition into one of the leading sites about Malta.
