The Asian Wall Street Journal last month quoted Lipper, a Reuters company, as ranking the La Valette European Opportunities Fund managed by Valletta Fund Management amongst the top 10 performing European equity funds. The La Valette European Opportunities Fund seeks to maximise long term growth for investors whilst minimising the volatility of the portfolio through investment in the Five Arrows European Opportunities Fund a sub-fund of the Five Arrows Global Investment Funds. The Five Arrows brand is managed by Rothschild Asset Management Limited, a member of the Rothschild Group which invests principally in equity and equity related securities of issuers based in Europe. Moreover, the Fund has also been performing first quartile for the past year. This means that it placed among the top 25 per cent of European equity funds worldwide. Referring to the factors leading to this success, Gary Clarke, Rothschilds Investment Advisor to the European Opportunities Fund commented, "The Fund performed well in May versus the peer group and the benchmark index since we continue to take advantage of share price falls across the technology and telecommunication sectors to increase our exposure to reasonably valued companies, particularly in the mid-cap area, where we believe the growth prospects have been overlooked." Expressing his satisfaction, Valletta Fund Management Chairman Joseph Zahra commented, "This important milestone demonstrates our ongoing commitment to give the best positive returns to our investors. In a period characterised by a general slowdown in market performance, we are more than confident that such a result will help investors regain confidence and look at the future with more optimism."
