IFS/BT Financial Innovation Awards 2002

The Institute of Financial Services, in collaboration with British Telecom, will, for the fifth consecutive year, be organising the prestigious Financial Innovation Awards.

The awards are not simply given for the submitted projects' technological gains, but rather for the integrated application of technology in response to market needs. The main mission of the Institute, both internationally and in Malta, is that of promoting professionalism in the Financial Services sector.

The IFS awards have undoubtedly become the industry's leading showcase for recognising innovators from across the globe. The aim is that of providing public recognition for those institutions which do not merely copy others, but which opt to use their own creative skills and expertise so as to meet and exceed the needs of the business.

The finals are scheduled to be held at the London Guildhall on 28 November 2002.

This year's nominations are unique for Malta, as this is the first time that a Maltese bank has been short-listed for the Awards. Bank of Valletta's nomination, the Collateral Processing & Sanctioning (CPS) system, now ranks amongst the top Five most Innovative Working Practices, alongside other leading Banks and Building Societies.
