Britishjet.com officially took flight on Saturday 30 April, minutes after the company’s official launch in the Medavia Hanger, at Safi.
The livery of Britishjet.com was revealed, and so was the uniform of the cabin crew. Mr. Markus Seiller, the CEO of Hello described the day as a historic one both for Switzerland and Malta.
Robby Borg, the CEO of Britishjet.com, dwelt on the importance for the cabin crew to give good service, and said the client is the ultimate wage-payer. He also reminded the crowd present at the hanger that before Bargain Holidays started back in 2000, Maltese citizens were banned to travel on a charter, even if sick, and needed to be transported by emergency.
Borg made it clear that his company gave a chance to everybody to travel, or rather travel more often. After the speech Seiller presented Borg with a model of the MD-90, symbolizing the lease of the aircraft. This was shortly followed by the cutting of the string which was made by the deputy British High commissioner. The aircraft was then opened for the public and the media to view.
Britishjet.com’s MD-90 slowly careered outs of the Medavia facility at 7.30pm and crossed the road to the airport. Two and a half hours later, at 10.00pm the aircraft made its first flight for Leeds Bradford. |
