HSBC Bank Malta p.l.c. has reopened its refurbished branch in Msida providing a more attractive, comfortable and safer environment for both customers and staff. HSBC is now in the final stages of its Lm10 million programme to refurbish all its buildings up to HSBC Group standards.
The refurbished branch, which was opened by Msida Mayor, Dr Carmelo Grima, and HSBC Malta’s Chief Executive Officer, Shaun Wallis, includes all fire and safety standards required to meet HSBC Group standards. This includes the provision of more than one means of escape, fire compartmentation, fire doors, fire detection systems, photoluminescent signage, emergency lighting and fire extinguishers.
Security at the branch has also been greatly upgraded with all cash transactions taking place in a secure, bullet proof isolated area of the branch. As in all HSBC branches, high definition cameras take still shots and video motion. A digital image management system simultaneously records all images which would provide comprehensive evidence if needed.
“The reopening of our refurbished Msida branch, which provides a full range of banking and financial services to the population of Msida and to many nearby commercial outlets represents further milestones in HSBC’s programme to renovate its entire network. The bank has invested some Lm10 million in this programme and the quality of work being carried out has been excellent,” said Wallis.
The reopening of the HSBC Msida branch was also attended by HSBC’s Valletta Area Director, Alexander Mizzi. The Parish Priest of Msida, Fr Valentino Borg, blessed the new branch.
Following the official inauguration of the refurbished branch, HSBC’s CEO, Wallis, presented a donation to Fr Borg. |
