Sally Robson has been appointed HSBC Bank Malta’s new Chief Operating Officer. Robson, who will be taking over from Martin Wilkins, is moving to Malta following five years as Area Director of the Greater Manchester Area with HSBC Bank plc.
In her previous role in Manchester, Robson, was responsible for 48 Retail branches, 6 Commercial and Corporate banking centres and a regulated sales force. Sally also has extensive experience in HSBC’s Corporate Investment, Banking and Markets Division (CIBM), having occupied the posts of Head of Financial Services Sector and Joint Head of the Insurance Sector.
“Sally has been with the bank since 1979 when she joined Midland after leaving University. Her track record has been particularly impressive. As Area Director she transformed Manchester into one of the top performing Areas in HSBC in the UK, and we have every confidence that Sally will greatly help develop further HSBC’s business in Malta,” said HSBC Bank Malta’s Chief Executive, Shaun Wallis.
Apart from her work with HSBC, Mrs Robson is also Vice President of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the largest Chamber in the UK and a Governor of the Withington Girls’ School, one of the UK's top independent schools for girls. She is also a member of the Greater Manchester Forum, a public - private body working towards improving the economic prosperity of the Region in co-operation with the Government.
