Malta Enterprise organised for the second time the participation of various Maltese companies at the third international building and construction exhibition Building & Construction Expo - Libya Build 2006 held recently in Tripoli, Libya.
This event offered the opportunity to companies engaged in the construction of urban residence, infrastructure, the production and provision of material and services, to meet with companies and individuals already engaged in the construction boom that has flourished in Libya.
Seven stands were set up in a number of halls specialising in different sectors for the Maltese companies, who presented a wide range of products and services such as contractual services for turnkey projects; specialised training for lift maintenance; new security and alarm concepts; tiles; marble flooring; aluminium apertures and profiles; and the introduction of pre-stressed concrete with the training, setup and production provided locally.
All the Maltese exhibitors expressed satisfaction at the number of contacts generated throughout the event and numerous interested requests by Libyan and foreign contractors, architects and engineers directly involved on the building sites in Libya. Furthermore, the Malta Enterprise office in Libya was instrumental to make participation of the Maltese companies lucrative and was also supportive throughout their visit in Libya. During their stay, the Maltese delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Maltese Embassy were they were hosted for a business lunch by Ambassador Dr John Cassar.
Following the encouraging results obtained in this event as well as in previous editions, Malta Enterprise will be participating in the forthcoming edition due to be held in May 2007.
