Vodafone Malta Limited has announced new appointments in its management structure. Mikhail Gerchuk has been appointed as new Chief Commercial Officer and Michael Darmanin as Vodafone’s Head of Business.
Mikhail Gerchuk comes from Vodafone Group where he was Head of Voice Propositions since July 2003. Prior to joining Vodafone Group, Gerchuk held positions in several world-known companies including Booz Allen Hamilton Consultants, Pepsi-Cola and Mars Inc. He holds an MBA from Insead, an MA in Economic Geography and an MA in English. He is succeeding Paul Bahia who after three years, has returned to the Group Headquarters.
Michael Darmanin joined Vodafone Malta in May 1990 and until recently occupied the post of Customer Value Senior Manager. During the past 16 years he was responsible for acquiring and retaining customers through effective marketing, sales, account management and solutions and for leading and developing the business, consumer and channel teams. He holds an MBA in General & Strategic Management.
“These new appointments feature two professionals who over the last few years have built up a solid marketing and communications background. Their experience, combined with the academic and professional training background, makes them the ideal persons to take Vodafone’s marketing strategy and the customer experience forward over the coming years,” said Vodafone Malta’s CEO, Hatem Dowidar.
Vodafone Malta has also announced changes to its Board of Directors. Vodafone Malta’s Chief Technical Officer Ing. Joseph Muscat has been appointed Member of this Board and the full Board is now made up of Vodafone Malta CEO Hatem Dowidar, Michael Bianchi who has been on the board since Vodafone Malta started operating, and the recently appointed Ing Joseph Muscat.
Ing Joseph Muscat joined Vodafone Malta in 1990 as Engineering and Operations Manager. He is a graduate in electrical engineering from the University of Malta, a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Electrical Engineers of UK. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Management from Anglia Polytechnic University and prior to joining Vodafone held management positions with Air Malta and STMicroelectronics. Ing Muscat has served for several years as a member of the Malta Engineering Board. |
