On Thursday 24th of May 2007 the Computer Society of Malta held its third edition of the ICT Malta Awards at the Radisson SAS Baypoint Resort St Julian’s.
The evening’s cultural event went smoothly with Frances Catherine Farrugia accompanied on the piano by Dr Roberto Debono giving a formidable display of famous arias from Puccini, Lehar, Chopin Rogers Hammerstein, amongst which.
The winners were as follows:

IT Education Award: MIIIT – MyPotential
Micro Enterprise Award: Webgenix – Table Tennis Online Store
Information Society Award: TCTC - emCitizen
IT Product Award: Shireburn - Integra4Notes
IT Product Award: Computime – Lloyds Block Free Management System
IT Company Award: Datatrak Solutions Ltd
This year the Computer Society of Malta awarded two Merit Awards as follows:
R & D Awards. This award was given to Datatrak Solutions as their nomination achieved the required standard however only one nomination was submitted.
A merit award was also given to MediaCatalyst because their nomination was deemed to be of a real high standard.
A monitory donation was also awarded to four MCAST students in recognition of the work they are doing to obtain diplomas in higher diplomas in the subjects of Networking/Support and Software Development. The students were Adrian Cassar, Melvin Xuereb, Justin Bonavia and Lynn Norma Russell.
Finally a Lifetime Achievement Award was significantly made to Karm and Thomas Galea who set up Megabyte and over a span of approximately 30 years were in the forefront to set up solutions to both the local private and public IT sectors.
Finally the Chairperson of the Computer Society of Malta, Mr. Anton Callus, on behalf of ECDL Malta made a prestigious award to the Hon Dr Austin Gatt M.P. for his outstanding contribution to the advancement of Digital Literacy in Malta. |
