Over 250 small business owners and self-employed participated in the series of educational seminars organised by Bank of Valletta at its branches in Attard, Naxxar, Fgura, Qormi, San Gwann and Zebbug. These evening meetings on the theme, “Open for Business”, were held in collaboration with the Parliamentary Secretariat for Small Businesses and the Self Employed.
John Soler, Chief Officer responsible for Credit at Bank of Valletta said, “We are delighted and encouraged with the success of this initiative. By opening our branches in the evening and providing such a forum for small business owners and self employed we have sought to provide more added value and supportiveness to the business community. The positive turnout of business customers who attended these educational discussions shows that we have identified and addressed a need for more opportunities where our customers can get first hand information that is relevant and important to their respective businesses and the way they operate”.
The small business owners and self-employed attending these seminars were addressed by a number of speakers who discussed various topics that are of relevance to business today. The Euro, Malta Enterprise financing products, Wealth Management, legal issues on waste and the environment, BOV’s Micro Financing Package, licensing issues, Trade Finance, Intellectual Property, Credit Cards, E-Commerce and Bancassurance were amongst the topics discussed.
The participants also had the opportunity to engage in interesting discussions with the various speakers, making these seminars truly participative and relevant. |
