Shaun Wallis, who has been Chief Executive Officer at HSBC Bank Malta plc for the past three years, would not comment whether his contract will be renewed in March next year.
Asked by BusinessToday to comment on whether Mr Wallis is going to be re-appointed as CEO of HSBC Malta when his term expires next March, a spokesperson for the Bank gave a curt “no comment”
51-year-old Wallis has been CEO of HSBC Malta plc since September 2004. His previous position was General Manager International of HSBC Europe based in London covering 19 countries.
In this position he was responsible for HSBC acquiring the then Mid-Med Bank from the Government of Malta in June 1999. Since then, he has occupied the post of Director of HSBC Bank Malta plc.
Wallis joined HSBC Bank in 1977 and has served in the Far East, New Zealand, the Middle East and Europe in a variety of management roles over the last 30 years. |
