The European Parliament Office in Malta announced a Call for Proposals for the 2008 EP Grants that that will focus on the 50th Anniversary of the European Parliamentary Assembly and the European Year for Inter-Cultural Dialogue.
Euro5,000,000 is available for Grants to applicants in the 27 member states of the European Union.
Proposed Projects may take the form of:
1. Television Productions.
2. Debates and Conferences.
3. Large-scale events including Fairs and Exhibitions.
4. Websites and other Internet-based initiatives.
These Grants aim to enhance EU transparency and encourage broader public participation and debate in the issues before the democratically elected European Parliament whose actions have a direct bearing on our lives as European Citizens.
In addition grants will also be provided for projects that support cultural and linguistic diversity and the promotion of solidarity to coincide with the European Year for Inter-Cultural Dialogue. These grants will provide the means for intercultural dialogue, for dialogue between citizens to strengthen respect for cultural diversity and to deal with the coexistence of different cultural identities and beliefs.
Proposed Projects must take place between January 1st, 2008 and April 30, 2009.

The Closing date for Applications is October 1st, 2007 at noon. |
