Bank of Valletta is hosting the annual meeting of the Financial Institutions Shareholders Group of the European Investment Fund (EIF).
The meeting is being held in Malta on the 20 September 2007 at BOV Centre in St Venera. It will be attended by representatives of the various European financial institutions that have a shareholding in the EIF. Bank of Valletta is a shareholder of the EIF.
The President of the European Investment Bank, Philippe Maystadt, the Vice President of the European investment Bank, Philippe De Fontaine and the Chief Executive of the European Investment Fund, Francis Carpenter will be amongst the distinguished personalities addressing the meeting.
The objective of the meeting is to keep the Financial Institutions updated with the latest developments of the European Investment Fund and to discuss various areas of interest and future plans.
Bank of Valletta’s Chief Executive Officer, Tonio Depasquale said, “We are delighted to be hosting the EIF Financial Institutions Shareholders Group in Malta and we are looking forward to a most fruitful meeting. We have put together an interesting programme of events where participants will also have the opportunity to witness some of the historical and cultural heritage that Malta has to offer”, concluded Mr Depasquale.
The European Investment Fund is the prime European institution whose main objective is to support the creation, growth and development of enterprises. The European Investment Fund is a public-private partnership whose tripartite shareholding includes the European Investment Bank (66%), the European Union represented by the European Commission (25%), and a number of European banks and financial institutions (9%). EIF intervenes by means of capital and guarantee instruments, using either its own funds or those available within a framework of mandate entrusted to it by the EIB or the European Commission. |
