Farsons to downsize fast food outlets
The managing director of Farsons has confirmed that the company is preparing to downsize its operations at its fast food outlets.Louis Farrugia told The Malta Financial and Business Times that its subsidiary company Food Chain, which runs Pizza Hut, Burger King and Kentucky Fried Chicken, will be offering early retirement to workers and tailoring operations at head office.

Delay in pension reform feared
The secretary general of the General Workers’ Union has expressed concern that the discussion on pensions is back to square one following the resignation of Anthony Galdes as Chairmain of the Commission for Welfare Reform.

Inflation rate hits 39-month high, RPI up slightly
Malta’s rate of inflation, according to statistics released yesterday by the National Statistics Office, continued to rise in December. The figure rose to 2.93 per cent, the highest rate registered since September 1998
