Shireburn wins IBM Innovation Award

Shireburn Software have won IBM’s Lotus Chief Technology Officer Innovation award for their Integra for Notes product. This prestigious award recognises visionary IBM Business Partners who are leading the technology charge by exploiting IBM Lotus Software’s latest capabilities in innovative and leading-edge ways. The award is recognises those companies fostering innovation and at an ingenuity level that stands out above their peers.
Over the last year Shireburn has worked closely with IBM’s China Development lab in the implementation of an interface to IBM Lotus Symphony which allows Shireburn’s Integra for Notes product to integrate Lotus Notes data into Lotus Symphony. Lotus Symphony is the free Microsoft Office replacement suite from IBM based on OpenOffice. The research and innovation undertaken during this process has lead to the Maltese company being recognised by IBM.
The award was announced at Lotusphere in Orlando last week in front of 5,000 people and widely promoted by IBM. John de Giorgio, Shireburn Software’s Managing Director , was presented with the award by Bob Picciano, General Manager IBM Lotus Software (see photo alongside).

Integra for Notes has collected a number of awards since its initiation including the Lotus Advisor Award in 3 successive years, the e-Pro Magazine Award, the Computer Society of Malta’s IT Product of the Year in 2007 and now the IBM Lotus CTO Innovation Award.
