Marsovin Summer Wine Festival Goes to Gozo

On 29 August Marsovin will be holding its first edition of the Marsovin Gozo Summer Wine Festival inside the Citadel in Victoria, Gozo.
The concept of the event is similar to the larger event organised in Malta, with an aim to not only to promote Marsovin’s wines but also to present a cultural event tied to a Mediterranean theme. The Citadel will be split into two sections representing Malta and Morocco. Each section will host its own musicians playing and performing typical music from each respective country.
“We are organising this event to ultimately promote the wines that we produce within a cultural environment. It’s not just about selling wines,” said Marsovin Director Jeremy Cassar. “It’s about producing events on a quality level to a consumer that is also interested in appreciating culture for its value.”
Marsovin Summer Wine festival is set to be a wine festival with a difference. The location alone lends itself perfectly to a walk through Citadel Wine Festival. The event will be a smaller version of the Marsovin Summer Wine Festival in Malta though still well planned to host two of Malta’s favourite entertainers, Shanti Beat playing tribal music and Scream Daisy unplugged.
During the event Marsovin will be promoting its new range of wines The Caravaggio all of which have been produced from grapes grown in Malta; its Gozitan range of wines Odyssey, Ulysses and Antonin Blanc.
Each person who attends the festival will have to pay a €5 entrance fee, for which they will receive a wine glass which they can keep after the event as well as a €2 token which could be redeemed for a glass of wine. Then wine can be purchased using a token system – a 185ml glass of wine will cost from €2 to €4 depending on the wine and food will range from €6 to €9. Doors open at 7pm and close at 12am. A park and ride facility has been organised from the Victoria Bus terminus to the Citadel from 6pm onwards. The event is organised in conjunction with the Victoria Local Council and supported by the Ministry for Gozo.
