Malta-Estonia discuss trade

Malta and Estonia discussed trade and political relations yesterday during a visit to Valletta by the Estonian Foreign Minister, Urmas Paet.
The Foreign Ministry said the two countries were exploring new ways to enhance trade and business links, stressing that “Maltese and Estonian businessmen could possibly assist each other in projects in the North African and Northern European regions,”.
Foreign Minister Tonio Borg talked about the “huge potential” for such initiatives which would ultimately be beneficial for both countries.
A Maltese company which operates an international franchise and 30 restaurants in Malta, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania (MacDonalds), is planning to expand its operations and open eight additional restaurants in Malta and the Baltics over the next two years.
The Estonia minister thanked the Maltese government for supporting his country’s preparations to adopt the euro.
