Direct Credits becoming even more popular

Ms Catherine Stevens of the B’Kara Area Office of the Department of Social Security was the official who managed to register the highest number of persons on Bank of Valletta’s Direct Credits System during a recent campaign. The campaign had the objective of promoting Direct Credits as a convenient and simple way on how beneficiaries of the Department of Social Security can receive payments for allowances, pensions and other benefits. In recognition of Ms. Stevens’ efforts, Mr. Hubert Camilleri, Bank of Valletta’s Business Development Manager, presented her with a voucher entitling her to a weekend break in a leading leisure resort in Gozo.

During the presentation, held at the Ministry of Social Policy, Mr. Camilleri congratulated Ms. Stevens on the success she had achieved and said that BOV’s Direct Credits System was highly advantageous and constituted a better alternative to customers. He said that, by receiving allowances, pensions and other social benefits through this system, beneficiaries benefit from immediate availability of funds, can start earning interest immediately upon deposit, eliminate the need to queue at the bank and benefit from the added safety of having their money deposited at the bank. Mr. Camilleri said that it was encouraging to note that today, even more people are taking advantage of the benefits Direct Credits offer and are preferring this efficient method of payment.

Present for this event were Mr. Edward R Gatt, Director of Social Security and Mr. Alfred Portelli, Officer in Charge of Social Security.
