Two women who work at Thomas Cook, Paceville Branch, were the victims of a hold-up yesterday afternoon. Although no one was injured during the incident, the ladies were in a state of shock. This hold up occurred when the employees went out for their usual break at around 1pm. As they were walking through Elia Zammit Street, corner with St George Street, three persons ushered out of a blue Escort armed with a revolver. They robbed the two women. The attackers were hooded. At this moment a police confronted the culprits who responded with gun shots. Then they raced away in the direction of Axis nightclub. The Escort that was used by the attackers and which stolen during the night was later found at Wied il-Ghomor. |
