Labour leader Dr Alfred Sant has confirmed that his party is hard at work organising itself for the next elections. During a social event at TaXbiex, the opposition leader said that this year will serve as a period of preparation during which the party will set out plans to help lead the country out of the abyss into which Fenech Adamis government has led it. Dr Sant criticised the futile manner in which the Prime Minister is presenting the EU and fears that instead of increasing opportunities, the opposite will occur. He continued by saying that the social burden of taxes is increasing and therefore creating further difficulties for the public. The Labour Party is working on social and economic sectors with the aim of creating a firm basis for the future of tourism, industry, agriculture, fishing, self-employed, education and environment. The aim is to make our country truly a place of improved living conditions for all. Dr Sant stressed that the Labour Party will be approaching the next elections with a plan to be implemented on immediate basis so to prove a difference which is already evident within local councils with Labour leadership. |
