MV Maltese Falcon as new after extensive refurbishing

Sea Malta’s mv Maltese Falcon has successfully completed an intermediate survey at the Malta Drydocks. The periodic survey carried out in line with the class requirement to ensure the vessel’s structural and mechanical reliability follows a previous one carried out on the mv Zebbug two months ago.
During her visit to the ship at the docks, Sea Malta Chairman Mrs Marlene Mizzi commented on the vital role of the mv Maltese Falcon in sustaining the organisation’s efforts towards the provision of an important link between Malta and mainland Europe. "Purchased in 1999, the mv Maltese Falcon, is the fastest and largest ship ever owned by Sea Malta and operates the Malta – Tunis – Genoa – Marseilles – Genoa route in a most efficient manner that benefits the local industry’s requirements."
Mrs Mizzi adds, "Conscious of the importance of the schedule reliability for trailer operators and the industry at large, every effort is made to maintain punctuality of arrivals and departures. This can only be ensured through the regular and costly servicing of our vessels, an effort that forms part of our commitment to offer an edge in the service we provide to all our clients."
Joseph Bugeja Sea Malta’s General Manager said that the survey consisted of a comprehensive technical assessment followed by repair works on the ship’s hull and machinery, which involved extensive works including the grit blasting and repainting of the entire ship’s structure. All repair works were carried out under the supervision of an appointed technical team from Sea Malta’s ship management division.
Finally, Sea Malta Chairman also took the opportunity to thank the management and workers of Malta Dry-docks who have worked relentlessly to complete an excellent job within the agreed deadlines.
