BOV and Air Malta strengthen long-standing business relationship

Bank of Valletta and Air Malta will be consolidating their excellent business relationship by extending their corporate agreement for a further period of three years.
Through the agreement, which will offer various advantageous terms on banking services to Air Malta, Bank of Valletta will be recognised as the airline’s official banker.
The agreement was signed by BOV’s Chief Officer Retail Banking, Igino Xuereb and Air Malta’s Group Head Treasury, Anthony Chircop.
On signing the agreement Mr Chircop stated that Air Malta is honoured to have again signed a corporate agreement with BOV. He said that the Bank not only offers a professional and efficient service with a wide range of products that meet Air Malta’s requirements but BOV also has an ongoing service enhancement program to suit the Airline’s ever changing requirements. He concluded by stating that both Air Malta and BOV have an important role in the growth of the local economy especially in the tourism industry. While Air Malta contributes by providing flights to almost all the European destinations, BOV plays an important role by financing the infrastructure including hotels and ancillary service companies so that tourism remains one of the pillars of Malta’s economy.
Speaking about this corporate agreement Mr Xuereb said that, "the bank is proud to be associated with Malta’s National Airline which is also one of Malta’s largest companies employing over 1,770 employees. Air Malta’s role is crucial for the travel industry and trade given that it flies out to more than just the major cities in Europe. Such an agreement provides for numerous business opportunities between the bank, Air Malta and its respective employees. Furthermore, this agreement also forms part of the Bank’s customer centric strategy, where the bank is providing tailor made services according to its customers’ particular needs."
The BOV and Air Malta Corporate Agreement also incorporates a number of value-added benefits and specialised banking services for all employees of Air Malta and its subsidiaries.
