The Director General (Contracts) notifies all tenderers that in terms of Clause 30 and Part XIII of the Public Contracts Regulations 2003, recommendations made by the General Contracts Committee for the award of public contracts will be given publicity in the Department of Contracts' notice-board every Wednesday and Friday after 12.00 noon. Tenderers may also obtain this information by utilizing the polling facilities on fax number 2122 6156.
Any tenderer who may feel aggrieved by any such recommendation must submit his official complaint to the Director General (Contracts) in accordance with part XIII of the said Regulations which lays down in detail the procedure to be followed in such a case. All tenderers should, therefore, familiarise themselves with the provisions of this part of the Regulations.

Short-listing of prospective tenderers bidding for a Storage and Logistics contract titled:
Design, supply and installation of all equipment and services to implement a complete and comprehensive Storage and Logistics System for the Mater Dei Hospital of Malta.
CT 351/2004. Prequalification document for the procurement of Storage and Logistics System for the Mater Dei Hospital - Foundation for Medical Services.
Through the process of pre-qualification assessment, the Foundation for Medical Services (FMS) intends to identify those companies with the appropriate skills, financial strength and experience required to successfully complete the project detailed below. The qualified companies would then be considered applicable to tender for the hospital storage and logistics requirements detailed below:
The FMS through the Director of Contracts seeks to appoint a suitable Contractor to design, supply, install and commission all required equipment and services to implement a complete and comprehensive storage and logistics system for Mater Dei Hospital.
This hospital comprises of a total of about 6,620 rooms, out of which 380 are stores, used for different purposes as listed below:
a) Storage for biomedical equipment
b) Storage of bulky items located in the main stores of the hospital
c) Storage of white goods/IT equipment/furniture
d) Storage of solvents and acids/paints and thinner
e) Ward/unit/department storage facilities for linen, equipment and general storage
f) Storage systems for the different areas within the Pharmacy department including bulky storage, storage of intravenous infusion bottles, storage of oxygen cylinders and storage facilities for the dispensing area included storage of pharmaceuticals
g) Storage systems for medical records (patients' files)
As a guideline for any interested party, this shall entail, but shall not be limited to, the following requisites:
i) Consultancy services that might be required by the Client to accomplish this task together with Design proposals for efficient Storage Systems;
ii) Materials management systems from the point of unloading to the storage areas and from the storage areas to the point of consumption;
iii) Carts/trolleys considered necessary for the transportation of goods from the main stores to the wards or other areas within the hospital;
iv) Replenishment systems such as top up or exchange cart system;
v) Transport vehicles for internal/external use within the hospital premises, such as battery operated tow trucks/fork lifters/palletizers.
