Oracle has announced a new world record TPC-H three terabyte data warehousing benchmark result for Oracle Database 10g Release 2 on HP Integrity servers, demonstrating both companies' ability to manage large-scale data warehouses.
Running on a single HP Integrity Superdome server with 64 Intel(r) Itanium(r) 2 1.6 GHz processors with 9MB cache using the HP-UX 11i operating environment, Oracle Database 10g Release 2 achieved world record performance of 71,847.8 QphH@3000GB with a price- performance ratio of $56/QphH@3000GB.
Utilising the same number of processors as utilized in an IBM TPC-H benchmark, this record-breaking result outperforms the recently published three-terabyte TPC-H result by IBM DB2 running on an IBM eServer xSeries 346 by more than 30 percent.
