Joe Grioli elected new President of the Eden Foundation
Mr Joe Grioli, a parent and long-time supporter and trustee of The Eden Foundation, has been elected President of The Eden Foundation - the not-for-profit Public/Parent Partnership that has successfully educated and supported hundreds of children with learning disabilities since it was founded by Dr. Josie Muscat 16 years ago.
Mr Grioli follows in the footsteps of Bro. Martin Borg fsc who stepped in for Dr. Muscat when the latter had to step down from his post as President of Eden two years ago. Under Bro. Martin, the foundation recovered financial stability and managed to accept every child previously on the Eden waiting lists. Bro. Martin resigned from his position as President late last week and the Board proceeded to elect a new President.
Mr Grioli is determined to actuate the long-augured collaboration of Eden with other entities in related spheres. As one of the promoters of the recent developments, Mr. Grioli clarifies that the project that the Boards of Razzett tal-Hbiberija and Eden have resolved to undertake together is in the nature of a joint venture not a merger. In fact, the two organizations will continue to exist and retain the powerful goodwill and respect they enjoy from the Maltese public.
The over-arching objective of the proposed new joint organization, which will manage and deliver both the educational and therapeutic services, will be to the benefit of all individuals and their families who – without question or reservation – deserve the best that can be made available to them without differentiation on grounds of their means.
Mr Grioli re-iterates his strong belief that the strength of the state’s educational system and of all involved with intellectually disabled children lies in coming together with one aim.
