On Friday 25 September 2009, the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) is organising an Open Day to promote its Aircraft Maintenance Training Courses. The session starts at the Aviation Maintenance Training Centre at the MCAST Main Campus in Paola at 9am. All interested persons, especially students, are invited to attend. No one will be allowed entrance without an Identity Card.
The programme starts with a presentation on Aircraft Maintenance Training Courses by the training manager followed by an explanation of the various quality checks on aircraft. At 10am, there will be a tour of the Aviation Maintenance Training Centre facilities.
Following this, the group will depart to Lufthansa Technik Malta where they will be given a tour of the premises. The tour will include an explanation of the different kind of checks aircraft have to undergo during the maintenance period. Visitors will also be informed of the types of job opportunities that will be available in the near future.
The programme continues with a trip to Aeromaritime and Medavia at Safi. Visitors will witness other types of aircraft other than Airbus and Boeings and will also learn about specialised repairs.
This Open Day is being organised in collaboration with all the Maintenance and Repair Overhaul organizations (MRO’s) including Lufthansa Technik Malta, Aeromaritime, Medavia, Air Malta, Mediterranean Aviation Company Ltd and Falcon Aviation Engineering Limited.
