Nestlé Professional in the catering industry – a year after

Food and beverage is one of the most important ingredients in the experience that hotels, restaurants and catering establishments want to offer and this, together with the service with which they are delivered, need to be of the highest level and of the best value.
As the world’s leading nutrition, health and wellness company, Nestlé has always been at the forefront in tapping new opportunities and assisting sectors to grow and develop and become more competitive. One such competitive sector is the hotel and catering industry which constantly strives to offer more value and a better experience to its customers. Nestlé saw in this, a very promising opportunity and set up Nestlé Professional - a globally managed business totally dedicated to the out-of-home market in order to assist and provide hotels, restaurants and catering establishments with their preferred branded food and beverage solutions.
“We embraced this opportunity a year ago with the setting up of the local Nestlé Professional business in order to cater for a sector that is constantly becoming more competitive especially in today’s scenario where value and high level have to be retained with less cost. This industry which is not currently passing through its best of times needs to identify with who can supply it with the best brands at the best value. Through Nestlé Professional, we partner with hotels and catering establishments and appeal to them by offering tailor-made solutions that are in line with their strategy and their vision,” reiterates Mr Borg.
Nestlé Malta’s experience in this channel was so far on the provision of one specific category: the Nestlé/Motta Ice- Cream and the Antica Gelateria Del Corso premium ice-cream. “During last year we have managed to establish a good business relation with some of the major hotel chains represented in Malta. We are positioned to offer a whole range - from the breakfast concept which includes coffee, milks, fruit juices and cereals to cooking aids for Chefs and Patisseurs such as mixes, powdered creams, catering chocolate and desserts. We also cater the “Sweet Ending’’ with a whole variety of chocolates, sweets and mints for hotel rooms, cafeterias, reception areas and events, all tailor-made and priced in a way that gives most value to our clients.”
“Nestlé’s best strength is the fact that its packages are composed of some of the best and most renowned brands in the world such as Nescafé for coffee, Fitness for breakfast healthy cereals and Perugina for chocolate products and hot chocolate apart from other chocolate ingredients for the patisseurs’ sweet creations, Nestlé water brands namely San Pellegrino and Panna and Maggi cooking aides. “We give utmost importance to establishing a professional service and follow up relationship which then facilitates the creation of new initiatives.”
Mr Borg added: “Nestlé Professional’s first year of operation has been very positive and favourably received and this due to the main strengths that we enjoy. One of our best strengths that we feel is contributing to this success is the fact that due to its global presence, Nestlé is aware of the different cultures and customer trends in various markets and through an acquired expertise, Nestle Professional can assist hotels in addressing their respective tourists’ culture and expectations along the consumption line,” concluded Mr.Borg.
