British Airways launching more mobile services on ba.com

British Airways announced that they are launching the second phase of their mobile service. This is great news especially for BA’s Executive Club members who will now be able to check points & miles balance by logging in to ba.com through their mobile phones. Furthermore they can see their list of upcoming flights and can then use the online check-in facilities on these flights.
The first phase of this mobile service was first launch in November 2008 and has proven to be very successful, with 95, 000 users in February – 9,500 on a peak day and 4,000 completed check-ins. The service allows travellers ‘on the go’ to check-in for flights wherever they may be, via their mobile handsets, as well as select seats and check-in individuals, groups and families for departure or return flights.
The new services which will be introduced in phase 2 are the Executive Club functions, where members will be able to checked their tier and status, they will also be able to initiate check-in without needing a PNR number. Contact numbers for British Airways and FAQs will also be available on the mobile service through ba.com.
The service is quick, free and available in 11 languages - without any need to download accompanying software. The service is accessible by logging on to www.ba.com/mobile using any mobile device that has a browser and a data plan. This includes high spec phones such as the iPhone (and iPod Touch), Blackberry and Windows Mobile phones, but is equally supported on most phones from Nokia, Motorola, Samsung etc.
