The Coastline Hotel awarded by Saga Travel Group

During a Gala Dinner held at the Coastline Hotel at the end of February, Mr Ian Colghan, CEO of the Saga Travel Group presented the Coastline Team with the first Saga Award based on customer satisfaction results achieved in the first few months of operation between the two companies. The award dinner was also attended by Ms Judith Chalmers, the award winning presenter of the famous British travel programme ‘Wish you were here’.
In 2008 the Coastline Hotel had signed a three year exclusivity contract with renowned tour operator Saga Holidays. The agreement, signed last August, ensures that the hotel is used exclusively for Saga Holiday guests traveling out of the UK. In turn Saga guarantee occupancy levels of 80% throughout the year to the hotel. The overall Coastline product and services delivered are therefore designed around the precise requirements of the operator and the guests that travel through Saga.
In his address to the 300 guests present for the dinner Mr Ian Colghan expressed his pleasure and satisfaction at the way the relationship between Saga and the Coastline has developed so positively over such a short period of time. Mr Colghan thanked the management and staff of the hotel for providing very high levels of service to Saga guests and explained that within just a few months the Coastline had become a flagship property for the saga group. Ms Judith Chalmers also addressed the crowd and explained that she was so impressed with the Coastline that she simply wished she could call her friends in the UK and say “I wish you were here” !
Commenting about this achievement, Winston J Zahra, Director of Operations, Island Hotels Group said, “We are all very proud of this achievement. We have a great team at the Coastline led by General Manager Malcolm Buhaggiar and the result achieved in such a short time continues to show how committed and well prepared our staff are in maintaining hospitality standards and exceeding customer expectations. The partnership we have with Saga is excellent and we have worked very hard together to ensure that our mutual guests experience the best possible product and service when they visit Malta. This award confirms that we are on the right track and encourages the whole team to continue striving towards ensuring that all our guests become ambassadors for Malta and the Coastline when they return back to the UK. Ultimately there is nothing like a positive experience to create new business through word of mouth advertising.”
