Metropole Hotel sold

Sliema’s Hotel Metropole will see the end of its life as a hotel at the end of this summer season, as the property has been bought and its new owners are planning a multi-million luxury residential development.
The property, located just a stone’s throw away from the sea and in Dingli Street, was recently bought from the Mifsud family by brothers Joe and James Satariano for an undisclosed sum.
The Metropole Hotel is currently operating under a private lease and remains popular with young European travellers during summer and aged British nationals during the winter.
According to sources, the plan is to demolish and reconstruct the site into luxurious apartments, together with a commercial centre at street level.
